Connect Claude to your account

Backed runs a standard MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so a compatible AI client can check odds, place stakes, and rule on markets on your behalf. Here’s how to connect Claude Desktop — the one we’ve actually tested.

  1. 1. Open Claude Desktop’s connector settings
    Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. 2. Paste in the server URL
    https://www.backyourself.online/api/mcp
    If it then asks about the OAuth client, pick “No client ID — register one automatically”. Ignore the “Anthropic’s hosted client metadata” option — we don’t support that one.
  3. 3. Log in and approve
    Claude Desktop opens your browser to log in with your phone number, then shows a screen asking you to approve access — approve it and you’re connected.
  4. 4. Just ask
    “What markets are open in my group?”, “Stake 100 on yes for the Tom market”, “What does the leaderboard look like?” — Claude calls the right tool itself.

This is a standard MCP server, so other compliant AI clients should work the same way — Claude Desktop is just the one we’ve verified end to end.
